Cedars is a Prep to Year 12 independent private school with approximately 800 students located just 10 kilometres south of Wollongong in the heart of the beautiful Illawarra. Our commitment to education begins by surrounding our students in a safe and trusted environment, where Christian values are evident in all we do. We are currently inviting applications for the following position, commencing in Term 2, 2026.

 

Primary Diverse Learning Teacher 

A permanent part-time position (0.6 FTE) exists for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to preferably commence in Term 2, 2026.

 

Key Responsibilities and Roles: 

  • Differentiation and Support: Designing tailored learning experiences to make the curriculum accessible for all learners, including students with speech, language, vision, hearing, behavioural and cognitive needs
  • Collaboration: Working alongside classroom teachers, parents, and external specialists to implement evidence-based strategies
  • Case Management: Overseeing student programs and maintaining documentation required for the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
  • Inclusion Focus: Ensuring all inclusion work has a student-centred approach
  • Specialised Intervention: Conducting targeted literacy and numeracy interventions to assist students in building confidence and independence
  • Christian Distinctives: Incorporate Christian world views understanding and Biblical truth into their lessons
  • Flexibility to teach from Kindergarten to Year 6

 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Teaching Certification: A recognised primary teaching qualification and NESA accreditation (in NSW)
  • Specialised Training and Experience: Additional qualifications and/or experience in special education or inclusive education settings is preferred
  • Knowledge of Curriculum: Strong understanding of how to adapt the primary curriculum to meet diverse needs and excellent teaching practice
  • Be able to create and maintain safe, inclusive and challenging learning environments including the development and implementation of learning and behaviour management plans
