Bracken Ridge State High School seeks a focused and dynamic Head of Department - Junior Secondary/Health and Physical Education to join a committed team dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for all students.

This opportunity will suit an educator who is a collaborative team member, passionate about delivering positive outcomes for year 7 and 8 along with demonstrating HPE curriculum capability.

You will also oversee school sport. This is a temporary full-time position commencing 18 May 2026 until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

Responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to:

  •  Lead Junior Secondary (Year 7 and 8) students to be engaged, extended, or challenged.
  •  Lead the HPE faculty to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, primary other government agencies, and community groups.
