About the opportunity

The Curriculum Leader (Pedagogy & Student Growth) supports the mission of the school by providing strong leadership in learning and teaching. This includes guiding the development of curriculum aligned with national, state and local requirements; promoting effective pedagogical practice; ensuring high‑quality student learning through informed supervision; using data to drive decision‑making; fostering partnerships within and beyond the school; and managing resources responsibly. 

 

This is continuing teaching appointment, with an initial appointment into the Curriculum Leader (Pedagogy & Student Growth) position including Middle Leader Allowance - Tier 4, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2026). Two subsequent three-year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

 

 

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the overall curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation across the school under the direction of Senior Leadership 
  • Applying contemporary learning and teaching research to classroom practice through whole-school professional development and targeted support for teacher improvement 
  • Collaborating with Curriculum Leaders, teaching staff, and Senior Leadership to review curriculum frameworks and plan future directions 
  • Leading teacher performance through professional dialogue, reflective practice, and formal/informal goal setting and appraisal 
  • Staying current with curriculum and pedagogy developments and guiding whole-school professional learning accordingly 
  • Providing induction and mentoring for beginning teachers in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Curriculum Leaders 
  • Supervising student learning across the school using internal and external data, and implementing strategic interventions 
  • Contributing to school leadership through active participation in staff and middle leadership meetings 
  • Managing financial and material resources within the curriculum area, including budget planning and expenditure 

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and local requirements.  
  • Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.  
  • Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.  
  • Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.  
  • Having responsibility for a financial budget.
