This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new primary school during its foundation years. Banksia Grove West Primary School (planning name) is scheduled to open in 2027, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 within a diverse and inclusive community. Located in the rapidly growing suburb of Banksia Grove, the school will serve a dynamic and expanding population of young families and will include an Endorsed Education Support Program (EESP).

The Role

The Deputy Principal – Curriculum / Information Technology (IT) would be a key member of the leadership team, working closely with the Principal to establish a high-performing, collaborative school culture. This role will lead the development and implementation of whole-school curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices, ensuring consistency and high-quality teaching across all phases of the school.

Ideally, we are seeking a strategic and relational leader with strong knowledge and experience of evidence-based curriculum, instructional practices and data analysis. The successful applicant would build staff capability through coaching, use data to inform decision-making, and support teachers to deliver high-quality, inclusive whole school programs with low variance, that meet the needs of all students. 

This role would encompass the development, implementation and management of IT across the school. A high level of knowledge and experience in Digital Technology whole-school practices is highly desirable. Knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) procurement, systems and management will also be advantageous.

The ideal applicant should possess strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential. Experience in Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice, along with the ability to support students at educational risk, will be highly regarded.

As part of the leadership team, you would work across all phases of the school, contributing to a “one school” approach. A visible and active presence across classrooms and the school will be highly important to support staff and ensure students are engaged and thriving.
