About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and between students and staff, and engaging parents and the wider community in the educational work of the school.

Principals are responsible for being innovative and creative in systems and structures to foster academic development and improvements in social and emotional development for students, as well as engaging a diverse school community in the educational programs of the school.

Principals possess a commitment to continuous school improvement and development of the instructional program, particularly the pedagogy of beginning teachers, and building networks with other agencies, other schools, and services in the community to benefit school programs.

Karratha Primary School operates an endorsed Education Support Program within a strong inclusive school model, providing specialised educational provision for students with significant additional needs. The program supports students requiring substantial adjustments beyond quality differentiated teaching, including those with intellectual disability, global developmental delay, or autism spectrum disorder. Purpose‑built facilities, skilled staff and a collaborative placement process ensure students and families receive high‑quality, personalised educational pathways. The successful Principal will demonstrate strong commitment to inclusive education, actively support the Education Support Program, and lead ongoing enhancement to ensure excellence in practice and outcomes for all students.
