Holland Street School is seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Holland Street School is a standout public school in the Midwest Region providing quality learning experiences for students who require substantial extensive adjustments that may include a high level of personal and/or medical care and have a diagnosed disability within the following domains: intellectual, physical and autism spectrum disorder.

The Role
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. You will also provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students, as well as the ability and willingness to engage with children with challenging behaviours, is highly desirable.
As an Education Assistant you will, under limited supervision and guidance be performing tasks that require discretion and judgement to assist students in achieving their full potential. We strive for an inclusive school environment that caters for students with a diverse range of support needs both academically and socially.
Suitable applicants should ideally possess a high level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with teachers to scaffold the curriculum and provide feedback on Teaching & Learning Adjustments. It is important that applicants have a positive attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, showing initiative and flexibility to produce the best opportunities for students. Completion of or working towards a Certificate III or Certificate IV in School Based Education Support is highly desirable.
