The Role
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and professional Executive Support Officer to join our team and provide high-level administrative support to the Principal and Executive team.
The Executive Support Officer plays a key role in shaping the quality and consistency of the school’s written and published communications. This includes drafting high-level correspondence, reports and publications that reflect the school’s strategic direction and align with Department of Education priorities, policies and expectations.
The role requires the ability to interpret context, exercise sound judgement and produce clear, accurate and purposeful communication that represents the Principal, the school and public education to a high standard.
This role sits at the centre of the school’s operations, supporting the coordination of the Executive team and ensuring effective communication, organisation and responsiveness across a wide range of school functions.
The successful applicant will ideally play a critical role in:
- coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Executive team
- managing schedules, communications and priorities for the Principal and Executive team
- preparing high-quality correspondence, briefing notes and documentation
- supporting the work of the School Board
- assisting with sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion
- contributing to the planning and coordination of key school events and communications
This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates initiative, and can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
About You
We are seeking a highly capable and discerning professional who understands the importance of precision, judgement and professionalism in supporting a school Executive.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to draft high-quality correspondence, reports and publications that are clear, concise and aligned to strategic intent
- The ability to interpret and translate complex information into well-structured, purposeful communication that reflects the voice of the Principal and the expectations of the Department
- A strong understanding of professional judgement, including the ability to manage sensitive information, respond to emerging issues and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage competing demands and meet tight timelines without compromising quality
- The capacity to work autonomously while anticipating needs, showing initiative and a solutions-focused approach
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior staff, external agencies and members of the community
- A commitment to accuracy, consistency and high standards, with a keen eye for detail
We are particularly seeking applicants who ideally possess experience in producing documentation that reflects organisational priorities, aligns with policy frameworks and represents their organisation to a high standard.
Experience in a school or public sector context, and familiarity with Department of Education systems and processes, will be highly regarded.
