Yarralinka Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and future-focused Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. The Role
As Deputy Principal, you would play a key role in leading school improvement initiatives across teaching and learning, staff development and student wellbeing. You would work closely with the Principal and leadership team to drive high quality teaching practices, develop strong professional learning communities and support a positive school culture.
The successful applicant will ideally display strong relational leadership and the ability to build trust with students, staff and families. They would lead with clarity and purpose, using data to inform decision making and supporting staff to continuously improve their practice through coaching, feedback and collaborative planning. This role would suit a leader who thrives in a growing school environment and is motivated by the challenge of shaping systems, structures and culture that support long-term success.
We are ideally looking for distinct skillsets that can contribute towards school improvement in the following areas:
- Leading the implementation of evidence-based teaching practices and whole-school curriculum approaches.
- Supporting the refinement and consistent implementation of Explicit Direction Instruction approaches.
- Developing staff capacity in data analysis to strengthen the Plan – Teach – Assess cycle.
- Leading initiatives that improve student progress in literacy and numeracy.
- Supporting whole-school behaviour and wellbeing approaches including Positive Behaviour frameworks and restorative practices.
- Promoting student voice and engagement across school initiatives.
- Supporting initiatives that build social and emotional competence and wellbeing.
- Developing a distributed leadership model that empowers middle leaders and supports staff growth.
- Leading coaching, observation and feedback processes that strengthen instructional practice.
- Contributing to a strong professional learning culture through PLCs and collaborative planning.
- Supporting initiatives that strengthen engagement with parents, local organisations and secondary schools.
