Deputy Principal

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2026

Lathlain Primary School (PS) caters for students in Kindergarten to Year Six and provides academic, social, physical and emotional well-being for our students. Our staff work with parents, carers and families to maximise opportunities for each student to reach their potential. The Role

In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the Deputy Principal provides educational leadership in curriculum and student engagement in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and facilitating workforce effectiveness. You will ideally be a strong leader with the ability to engage staff in curriculum development, strategic planning, and student services processes. Experience working within student services — including collaborating closely with the School Psychologist, Special Needs Education Assistants (SNEAs), and other support staff — will be highly beneficial in strengthening whole‑school approaches to wellbeing, behaviour, inclusion, and personalised learning.

The successful applicant should be highly motivated and innovative, with strengths in whole‑school curriculum and student engagement development. High‑level interpersonal skills are highly valued and will allow you to effectively lead, support, and build capacity across staff teams, including classroom teachers, specialist staff, and education assistants.

The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and model a positive approach to student learning. The ability to think and plan strategically, and to identify innovative and practical solutions to challenges and opportunities, will be highly regarded. We are seeking an agile leader who is flexible, willing to take on new portfolios, and able to work collaboratively with the School Psychologist, SNEAs, and the wider team to support all learners.
