Can you build something great with our students?

Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and has quickly established itself as a leading secondary school in Perth’s Swan Valley, catering for students from Years 7 to 12. Recognised as a school of choice, the College prides itself on high expectations, strong standards, a progressive approach to learning, and a commitment to excellence.

Our Technologies learning area is a vibrant and innovative department, providing students with hands-on opportunities to develop practical industry skills and knowledge. The outstanding success of our students at the WorldSkills National Competition is a testament to the quality of our programs and the dedication of our staff and students. The College’s Trade Training Centre has a strong vocational focus, particularly in building and construction, offering a highly competitive and successful pathway for students seeking industry-recognised experience and achievement.

Teaching and learning at the College is a strong focus across the College (with an Explicit Direct Instruction approach) supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom. The staff are supported through extensive professional development and coaching in these key areas. Aveley SC's collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognised as best practice through the Grattan Institute and teaching staff have been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) as examples of best practice. A central feature of the college is strong teams with an extensive repertoire of curriculum resources. As alumni of the Fogarty EDvance program, the school has visitors from across the state and country visiting our classrooms to see our teachers in action. Our teachers are our best asset.
