Dawul Remote Community School (RCS) is a friendly, high-performing remote school with an engaging environment, where everybody strives to be the best they can be.

At Dawul RCS, we hold high expectations across all areas of school life and foster a positive culture built on collaboration, respect, and genuine care. We are a community‑centred school known for strong attendance, excellent behaviour, and a close, trusting partnership with our local families. Suitable applicants will be respectful, responsive, and committed to working alongside the community and its culture.

Our school is located in a welcoming, small community just an hour from Kununurra; offering both a peaceful lifestyle and a strong sense of belonging.

The Role

Dawul RCS is seeking an educator who thrives on connection, who builds genuine, trusting relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the wider community. The successful applicant will bring strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work collaboratively in a school that values culture, partnership, and shared success.

Experience with evidence‑based literacy pedagogies is desirable, and familiarity with Explicit Instruction or targeted teaching approaches will be highly regarded. Knowledge of, or experience with, the Kimberley Schools Project (KSP) is a significant advantage. If you are not yet trained, you’ll be supported to undertake KSP professional learning to ensure consistency in the Explicit Instruction strategies embedded in our literacy program.

Beyond technical skill, we are looking for someone who embraces the adventure of teaching in the Kimberley, someone flexible, open to change, and energised by the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. You will ideally be committed to Aboriginal Education and able to create an inclusive, culturally responsive, and stimulating learning environment where every student feels seen and supported.

A strong work ethic, reflective practice, and a willingness to engage with data to inform teaching are essential. Most importantly, you’ll bring heart, curiosity, and a readiness to become part of a community that values relationships as much as results.

If you’re seeking a role where your impact is felt every day and where the landscape, culture, and people will shape you as much as you shape your students, this is an opportunity to step into something truly meaningful.
