  • The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
  • Educational Commitment: Commitment to Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of children.  Commitment to St Joseph the Worker Primary School, child safety and wellbeing policy and MACS code of conduct.
  • Registration: Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Pedagogical Knowledge: Understanding of MACS Vision for Instruction and Victoria Curriculum 2.0 Health and Physical Education.

The Successful Applicant Will Possess:

  • An understanding of the MACS 2030 Strategy, including the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.
  • A passion for teaching and building strong relationships with students
  • The ability to lead the learning in the classroom including principals of explicit instruction e.g. retrieval and review, checking for understanding and feedback etc.
  • An ability to foster a classroom culture where mistakes are seen as valuable learning opportunities
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to working with our school community to improve student learning outcomes
  • Knowledge of the Health and Physical Education Victorian Curriculum 2.0 and evidence-based teaching practices
  • The ability to plan and implement engaging learning experiences for all students
  • Proficiency in the use of technology to enhance student learning
  • Current VIT registration
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school, or a commitment to undertake this study in the future
  • A willingness to comply with the school’s Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct

The successful applicant should:

  • Hold current VIT registration
  • Have a strong commitment to the ethos of the Catholic school
  • references that address the person's suitability for the position and for working with children
  • provide proof of identity and evidence of relevant professional qualifications

Each application should include a letter of application detailing your interest in working with us, your current role, and relevant professional experience; a current curriculum vitae; and a completed Application for Employment form with three current referees.
